SPECTACULAR HEAVY TRANSPORT WITH SPMT AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Exciting insights into an unusual heavy-duty transport that recently took place in Paderborn / Schorndorf. The focus was on two Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMT) - one with 10 and one with 12 axles. A special highlight: the 6-axle PST-E split chassis was the first of its kind in use anywhere in the world.

This challenging transport was completely coordinated and implemented by Hofmann - from handling to the entire logistics. The work on site was carried out by two of our two experienced operators.

Two Nordex wind turbines were transported as part of this project, including 75-meter-long rotor blades and several tower sections. The entire route was 13 kilometers long and ran through the middle of Schorndorf - between a residential area and an industrial estate, past a hospital. Maneuvering the large and heavy components through the narrow streets was a particular challenge.

Thanks to the professional work of the entire team, as well as the precise planning and coordination, this demanding heavy transport was successfully completed.
